List the supplied parts

Identify what is actually included: body, lid, cap, additional vessel or separate accessories. Read the exact selected option rather than relying on a styled set photograph. A listing that shows a strainer and spoon may not supply those pieces. If the assembly is unclear, ask for the manufacturer’s instructions before choosing.

Compare the stated dimensions

Record capacity and overall size, then compare them with available cupboard and work-surface space. A large shaker can be inconvenient to store even when its capacity sounds impressive. Look at the maker’s intended use. This guide cannot certify a closure as leak-proof or tell you that a particular assembly is suitable for every liquid.

Plan for cleaning

Read how the components should be separated, washed and dried. Check whether any part has a different care requirement from the main body. Avoid selecting purely by a finish that looks attractive; the recipient will need to maintain the item after every use. Keep the actual product instructions with it.

Choose a useful gift

Ask what the recipient already owns and whether they want a replacement or an accessory. Compare a small complete setup with a large bundle whose extra pieces may remain unused. Keep packaging and the seller’s description in case the order is wrong or damaged. Do not make a performance claim based on a category search or the number of pieces in the box.
